[ti]n7thGR[/ti]Unofficial n7thGear 2015 24hr of Le Mans Prediction Contest

This is a series near and dear to us. Please don't feel like you have to be an expert or great repository of WEC knowledge to enter this challenge, as the WEC season is wild, wooly, and unpredictable. That's why it's so much fun to predict! There are new entrants in all categories, we have entrants that have moved from LM GTE AM to LMP2, we have entrants for whom this may be their last season in WEC, and are looking to go out on top.
This challenge will run all season, with predictions made for each race. The individual race points count towards the Constructors Championship. A prediction will also be made for the end of season standings. This one prediction will be known as the Drivers Champion. Constructors and Drivers will not be dependent on your success or lack thereof throughout the season, so even if you stink up predicting each race, you've still got a shot at the Drivers.

Voting begins NOW for the 24 Hours of Le Mans! The prediction window (voting) closes at the official green flag/start of race. The prediction window will open for the next race when the checkered flag falls on the current race.

End of season predictions will begin when the checkered flag falls at Nurburgring. We will be taking these predictions from 31-Aug until 12-Sept. Then 12-Sept through 17-Sept will be the prediction window for the COTA race.

The reason we do it like this is because, when you vote on the form, it feeds a master list, so we have no real way at the moment to have separate "ballots" so to speak. Therefore, all voting will be a simple matter of the time stamp it is received. Don't worry about time zones. If 12-Sept is the cutoff date, if it's 12-Sept where you live when you vote, that is accepted. We are not going to be overly strict on when you cast your votes. As long as we can determine you cast your vote before the race starts it will be accepted.

For each race, we will be predicting three of the categories. LMP1 & LM GTE Pro will be predicted every race, with LMP2 & LM GTE AM alternating with each race as a wild card. The exception is 24hrs of Le Mans.

Le Mans Predictions:


We will be picking the 1st THREE finishers for each race, with bonus points awarded to those teams/cars you place in the right position. You must specify which car number you pick due to several teams running 2 or 3 cars.
You cannot alter or resubmit your prediction once it is made (ie your first prediction will be used based on the time stamp of your submission).

The points will be awarded in a 'cross the line' unofficial results basis (ie not the classified results), to avoid complicating the points results by having to amend them when possible disqualifications, time penalties and politics come into play after the race has finished.

Constructors Champion points are awarded as follows:
Each correct top 3 prediction - 2 points
Each top 3 prediction placed correctly in finish order - 1 bonus point
Points will accumulate through out the season. Highest accumulative points at the end of the season wins the Constructors Championship.
Drivers Champion points system is as follows:
Actual official WEC points earned by the team/car you pick will be totaled. 1 bonus point will be added to the actual points for each team/car that you have correctly placed there standing.
Example: Pip will pick Audi car #7 to win the season. Since this car will win every race of the season, it will have an accumulated total of 150 WEC points. Since she will have correctly placed him as the overall winner, she will receive 1 bonus point, so she will have a total of 151 points for this car. She will also pick Audi car #8 to place second, and Audi car #9 to finish third for the season. But #9 will have a great run at Spa and #8 will DNF at COTA, causing them to flip flop. Therefore, she will be awarded those cars actual WEC points, but no bonus points.

Now on to the really important part, OUR winners. The winners of the n7thGear WEC Challenge will be legion. First, the top 3 points earners for each race will be awarded prize information and voucher after each race. All prizes will ship at the end of the WEC season, because participants will have a chance to win several prizes over the span of the contest.

Second, the top 3 points earners for the cumulative season will be awarded the Constructors Cup awards. And, last but not least, the top 3 points earners for the overall season winner prediction will be awarded the Drivers Cup Awards, the Grand Prize.
